S72 Review

Written by Amstel Flanders at 02:21 21/4-2025

Hello there, welcome to the most exciting moment of the season, when we all take a look back on what had happened in the last 90 days of Cycling.

Once again, after a shaky beginning the team rose its level after the first half of the season and complete a good season despite the many injuries and some mistakes preparing crucial races. Furthermore, Medgaard Sønderby won another SC jersey in Ukraine without effort and De Fauw confirmed his talent and was close to Captain Ahab in score.

The scouts worked hard and found an interesting rider to think as a replacement for the veteran star. We met him in the first Kangaroo Tour won by Emil, he was just a 21 years old cyclist in his first races but impressed Manager Williamson with his talent. When his team decided to take a break and sell the riders, our staff hesitated between bringing 3 or 4 riders with a supportive role or a young cyclist that eventually could fill Emil’s spot, so we went for it.

And after breaking the piggy vault, American rider Bobby Carey became our most expensive transfer, and surely we are pleased to have him in the team. While resting, the race directors have a lot to do and pick the best calendar for each captain. 313 races later and finishing Top 3 in his country, Sylvain Nkurunziza has retired from Cycling and did it as a One-Team Cyclist. One of our most successful BA riders, Sylvain was a threat in any heavy hill race.

Time to check our captain’s performance throughout the season.
