Gottfried Schuhmacher launched the sprint in GP Funen, though he wasn't able to follow up when Joop Temen and Alípio Almada rushed by. The victory ended safely in the hands of Joop Temen who proudly lifted his arms high. About the length of a wheel behind him came Alípio Almada claiming the second place. Gottfried Schuhmacher, who started the drama, ended up third on the stage.
NJ procycling's Joop Temen didn't hide his joy when winning the GP Funen. It's incredible. I didn't expect this at all. I just wanted to try, I aimed for being 5th or 6th, but suddenly I was in the lead! said the happy winner.
NJ procycling's manager, Jicky Nonkers, was satisfied after the result in GP Funen. Joop Temen did very well today. Everything turned out as we planned it, and Joop Temen had the power to win, said the manager.
