After only 20 km of Vejle Bakker, 2 riders got away from the peloton, which had a hard time cooperating. The two riders, Abdallah Murekezi (Millican) and Rodas Cornejo (Team WonderDee), kept increasing their lead and it seemed like it would no end take. Late in the race, too late, the peloton started speeding up, but the victory was already in the hands of the two break awayers. When the finishing line was near, Abdallah Murekezi and Rodas Cornejo had a small chat before starting the sprint. Abdallah Murekezi launched the sprint, but Rodas Cornejo quickly passed him by looking as the winner. As Rodas Cornejo thought the victory was his, Abdallah Murekezi made an amazing come-back and managed to be the first rider of Vejle Bakker to cross the finishing line. As the peloton got near the end of the stage, another rider (Xavier Nagas from AGB Procycling) tried his luck for the third place. He safely created a small gap between him and the peloton, which was just enough for him to claim the third place. Abdallah Murekezi was happy for his efforts today. It was a tough day today, but with the result of it, it suddenly feels like nothing. I'm so happy I won today. I didn't expect it at all, said the pleased winner. It's good to see Abdallah Murekezi fulfilling his ambitions winning this stage. He deserves the victory more than anyone else, said the proud manager of Millican, James Munner, and continued: The team was a good support for him (Abdallah Murekezi) today, and he clearly proved his worth in the break away today.
