Surprising victory of Mathéo Jouy

With lovely weather in Germany, all the riders were ready to do their best in Losheim - Trier - and som certainly did. Irvin Humbert from La Kasta went away from the peloton after only 17 km.
The peloton kept the tempo high, and Irvin Humbert slowly lost his lead. When the peloton reached him, after 17 2 km, Mathéo Jouy (La Kasta) and Olivier Ferrière (La Kasta) launched a counter attack. Irvin Humbert's first attempt didn't stop him from joining the break away, which afterwards slowly increased the lead.
When 10 km of the stage were left, the three riders in the break away were quite sure to go all the way to the finishing line alone. Their thoughts later became doubts, as the peloton got closer and closer. On the final kilometre, the 3 riders could see the peloton behind them, as they gave everything they could.
Olivier Ferrière launched an attack, which Irvin Humbert easily countered despite his hard work on the stage. For Mathéo Jouy it was a littler harder to follow, but later he simply proved to be faking. Olivier Ferrière couldn't follow the new tempo set by Mathéo Jouy, and neither could Irvin Humbert. Mathéo Jouy safely sprinted to victory and raised his arms while crossing the finishing line. Behind him, about the length of two bikes away, Irvin Humbert was slightly faster than Olivier Ferrière, who seemed to have no more power left after trying to attack earlier.
The stage today was perfect for me. I felt good in my legs, and when the attack got launched, I had a feeling that I could do this, said Mathéo Jouy to the interviewers and continued: I couldn't have done this without my team or my manager; they have a just a big part in this win as me.
kaster, manager of La Kasta, was happy with the result: The whole team did well today. Everything turned out as we hoped, and luckily, Mathéo Jouy was the strongest rider out there today. The proud manager didn't hide that he was satisfied with Mathéo Jouy's result. Mathéo Jouy did well. No one deserved the victory more than him. He put his focus on this stage long ago, and he kept his motivation high. I'm happy for him and the team, said kaster.
