Jonty Reynolds's first victory: Grevenmacher - Diekirch

Early on the stage, five optimistic riders attacked on the first climbs of Grevenmacher - Diekirch. They managed to keep a gap between them and the peloton until they reached the final climb. At the bottom of the climb, the group of favourites passed them. Rider by rider, they couldn't keep up with the tempo set by Bank Lux, who were supporting François Maury. Right behind the riders of Bank Lux was Jonty Reynolds and Adam Andersson lurking. François Maury looked strong, and seemed to have a good day, but when Adam Andersson launched an attack, only Jonty Reynolds could follow. Jonty Reynolds made a counter-attack and was suddenly alone in the front, as François Maury caught up Adam Andersson once again. Jonty Reynolds secured his victory without problems, while François Maury was faster in the sprint than Adam Andersson.
I'm still surprised that I could do this. Only when I was getting near the finishing line I realized that I had the chance of winning, said a shocked, but happy, Jonty Reynolds and continues: I owe my team a big thank for their great support today. Without them, this couldn't be possible.
Dawson, manager of Team Pinarello, was happy with the result: The whole team did well today. Everything turned out as we hoped, and luckily, Jonty Reynolds was the strongest rider out there today. The proud manager didn't hide that he was satisfied with Jonty Reynolds's result. Jonty Reynolds did well. No one deserved the victory more than him. He put his focus on this stage long ago, and he kept his motivation high. I'm happy for him and the team, said Dawson.
