Lex Ginneken, Team AEK, had it all when the ending of Palm Bay - Miami was near. With a perfect position in the peloton, all he had to do was timing his sprint - and he succeeded. As he raised his arms, he could look back and see Fabio Borges and Marcelo Nenza fighting for the second and third place several metres behind himself.
Lex Ginneken wasn't surprised after winning Palm Bay - Miami. I simply knew I could do it. I felt good all day, and when the end was there, I gave everything I had, said the confident winner.
The manager of Team AEK was proud of his rider today. Lex Ginneken has been training and preparing himself for this race. It's an important victory - both for Lex Ginneken but also for the team.
