Victory for Isaias Armesto

After only 17 km of Sparta - Sparta, 2 riders got away from the peloton, which had a hard time cooperating. The two riders, Isaias Armesto (SK12KOTH) and Casimiro Barbosa (AC Lisboa), kept increasing their lead and it seemed like it would no end take. Late in the race, too late, the peloton started speeding up, but the victory was already in the hands of the two break awayers. When the finishing line was near, Isaias Armesto and Casimiro Barbosa had a small chat before starting the sprint. Isaias Armesto launched the sprint, but Casimiro Barbosa quickly passed him by looking as the winner. As Casimiro Barbosa thought the victory was his, Isaias Armesto made an amazing come-back and managed to be the first rider of Sparta - Sparta to cross the finishing line.
As the peloton got near the end of the stage, another rider (Plamen Abushev from HOFC) tried his luck for the third place. He safely created a small gap between him and the peloton, which was just enough for him to claim the third place.
Isaias Armesto was happy for his efforts today. It was a tough day today, but with the result of it, it suddenly feels like nothing. I'm so happy I won today. I didn't expect it at all, said the pleased winner.
The stage couldn't turn out any better than this. Isaias Armesto did a perfect job today, said Skalla, manager of SK12KOTH, after the race.
