After only 16 km of Canal Flat Sprints, 2 riders got away from the peloton, which had a hard time cooperating. The two riders, Nicholas Henry (Clyde Velo Club) and Evaristo Paz (Ella Allez), kept increasing their lead and it seemed like it would no end take. Late in the race, too late, the peloton started speeding up, but the victory was already in the hands of the two break awayers. When the finishing line was near, Nicholas Henry and Evaristo Paz had a small chat before starting the sprint. Nicholas Henry launched the sprint, but Evaristo Paz quickly passed him by looking as the winner. As Evaristo Paz thought the victory was his, Nicholas Henry made an amazing come-back and managed to be the first rider of Canal Flat Sprints to cross the finishing line. As the peloton got near the end of the stage, another rider (Lucca Di Luca from Afrojamaicana) tried his luck for the third place. He safely created a small gap between him and the peloton, which was just enough for him to claim the third place. I'm still in shock. When the attack started earlier today, I didn't expect to end up as winner, said the happy Clyde Velo Club rider, Nicholas Henry. Only at the very end, I realized that this could be my chance, and so it was. Clyde Velo Club's manager, Robert Campbell, was satisfied after the result in Canal Flat Sprints. Nicholas Henry did very well today. Everything turned out as we planned it, and Nicholas Henry had the power to win, said the manager.
