Ascenso de Cotopaxi gets settled by Fariborz Omidi

Early on the stage, five optimistic riders attacked on the first climbs of Ascenso de Cotopaxi. They managed to keep a gap between them and the peloton until they reached the final climb. At the bottom of the climb, the group of favourites passed them. Rider by rider, they couldn't keep up with the tempo set by Deus Vult, who were supporting David Bunin. Right behind the riders of Deus Vult was Fariborz Omidi and Ilario Feresi lurking. David Bunin looked strong, and seemed to have a good day, but when Ilario Feresi launched an attack, only Fariborz Omidi could follow. Fariborz Omidi made a counter-attack and was suddenly alone in the front, as David Bunin caught up Ilario Feresi once again. Fariborz Omidi secured his victory without problems, while David Bunin was faster in the sprint than Ilario Feresi.
Today's stage fit well for me - I simply had to try my luck. And see what happened?, said a smiling Fariborz Omidi. The winner had no other comments, he quickly went to the team bus in order to celebrate the win.
The manager of Deus Vult was proud of his rider today. Fariborz Omidi has been training and preparing himself for this race. It's an important victory - both for Fariborz Omidi but also for the team.
