  NWA TT Flats's Gheorghe Ciobotariu defeated his nearest competitors when the peloton arrived at the finishing line in De 50 van Geel. Jonathan Grothe from NWA TT Flats opened the sprint with Gheorghe Ciobotariu right behind him, though Jonathan Grothe had no chance to follow his competitors when Gheorghe Ciobotariu boosted ahead. Gheorghe Ciobotariu won the stage only a few inches ahead of NWA TT Flats's Louis Randle who took the second place. Jonathan Grothe barely held his position as third.
NWA TT Flats's Gheorghe Ciobotariu didn't hide his joy when winning the De 50 van Geel. It's incredible. I didn't expect this at all. I just wanted to try, I aimed for being 5th or 6th, but suddenly I was in the lead! said the happy winner.
It's good to see Gheorghe Ciobotariu fulfilling his ambitions winning this stage.
