The many climbs in Liverpool - Leeds didn't give any good ideas for the riders. No riders attacked the entire stage through. When the final climb was near, the strongest riders settled themselves in front of the peloton. Baccala took a confident lead, supporting Aaron Payne. The devistating tempo set by Baccala crushed rider by rider. When Aaron Payne ran out of supporting riders, he had only 3 other competitors to beat. One of them, Nick Creemers (AK Pro Race), launched a quick attack and managed to sit a lone in front for a short time. He only had Aaron Payne and Wada Tomoaki (Navarone Cycling Team) behind him now. Nick Creemers could not keep the tempo high, and eventually, both Aaron Payne and Wada Tomoaki passed him by. Wada Tomoaki launched the sprint, but Aaron Payne outrunned him and became the winner. I'm happy the team picked me for the stage. I knew I could do it (win), and I wanted to prove it as well, said the happy winner who continued with a smile on his face: My preparations were perfect, I had a perfect day, and I won!. EnzoM, manager of Baccala, was happy with the result: The whole team did well today. Everything turned out as we hoped, and luckily, Aaron Payne was the strongest rider out there today. The proud manager didn't hide that he was satisfied with Aaron Payne's result. Aaron Payne did well. No one deserved the victory more than him. He put his focus on this stage long ago, and he kept his motivation high. I'm happy for him and the team, said EnzoM.
