The tough and steep time trial, Mt. Washington ITT (Stage 5 of Race of the Minutemen), was very exciting, as nothing was termined before the final riders finished. Tristão Vilaça (rooney17) set the best time when he finished the stage, while Ruggero Imbrignbio (Dodge) came in only a few seconds slower. As everyone thought Tristão Vilaça would win, the split times suddenly showed that one of the last 5 riders had the possibility of winning. Danilo Mazza of FretexHIBAS ended up beating Tristão Vilaça with no more than 5 seconds, which insured him the stage win on the steep time trial.
