Fonzo De Lacerda wins in Valmy GP

The many climbs in Valmy GP didn't give any good ideas for the riders. No riders attacked the entire stage through. When the final climb was near, the strongest riders settled themselves in front of the peloton. Planet Bikes took a confident lead, supporting Fonzo De Lacerda. The devistating tempo set by Planet Bikes crushed rider by rider. When Fonzo De Lacerda ran out of supporting riders, he had only 3 other competitors to beat. One of them, Tikhon Lebedinsky (Planet Bikes), launched a quick attack and managed to sit a lone in front for a short time. He only had Fonzo De Lacerda and Hróðgeir Auðgeirsson (Planet Bikes) behind him now. Tikhon Lebedinsky could not keep the tempo high, and eventually, both Fonzo De Lacerda and Hróðgeir Auðgeirsson passed him by.
Hróðgeir Auðgeirsson launched the sprint, but Fonzo De Lacerda outrunned him and became the winner.
The climbs today were tough, but I felt good all day, said Fonzo De Lacerda after winning. I loved the ending of the stage. It was when I saw the ending of the route I knew that I could win. It was perfect for me.
The stage couldn't turn out any better than this. Fonzo De Lacerda did a perfect job today, said Ryderman, manager of Planet Bikes, after the race.
