Abelardo Rivas unbeatable

The many climbs in Trofeo de Sierra Cabrera didn't give any good ideas for the riders. No riders attacked the entire stage through. When the final climb was near, the strongest riders settled themselves in front of the peloton. CC Trasona took a confident lead, supporting Abelardo Rivas. The devistating tempo set by CC Trasona crushed rider by rider. When Abelardo Rivas ran out of supporting riders, he had only 3 other competitors to beat. One of them, Roland Noble (joker team), launched a quick attack and managed to sit a lone in front for a short time. He only had Abelardo Rivas and Jaxon Hetherington (Telstra) behind him now. Roland Noble could not keep the tempo high, and eventually, both Abelardo Rivas and Jaxon Hetherington passed him by.
Jaxon Hetherington launched the sprint, but Abelardo Rivas outrunned him and became the winner.
I'm still in shock. When the attack started earlier today, I didn't expect to end up as winner, said the happy CC Trasona rider, Abelardo Rivas. Only at the very end, I realized that this could be my chance, and so it was.
The manager of CC Trasona was proud of his rider today. Abelardo Rivas has been training and preparing himself for this race. It's an important victory - both for Abelardo Rivas but also for the team.
