The TvA #30 edition kicked off today with a 4km prologue won by Toli Pinto from Cloud Atlas. His team mate Demy Alards finished 3rd, while Jonas Pro Cycling's Sebastião Cesário ended up 2nd. Cloud Atlas manager was very happy having two riders on podium. Jonas Pro Cycling also did very well with 3 riders | | in top 10, while the biggest dissapointment came for Team Majones, a TT oriented team who arrived to Belgium especially for this prologue but did not manage to put any of their riders inside top10.
We managed to speak to Toli Pinto just after the stage so here is a short interview with the first leader of the tour.
- Toli, congratulations on your win. You managed to repeat the success from last season, well done! How did you feel today morning? Did you expect this kind of result?
- Thank you, I have been training hard all week with Demy Alards and I know the course very well. The expectations were high for me to achieve a high Result.. I am very glad I felt good today and got the win.
- Looking
| | at the GC contenders, the best placed rider after the TT is Kadir Goncalves (10th). Do you see him as a favotire for the win?
- Definitivamente, Kadir always seems to shine in these high stake races and has a strong team to support him. Our objective does not change though and now we concentrate on making sure our captain can win back some time in the cobbles.
- Your captain is of course Jacinto Cresaco and he finished 33rd in the TT. What is the team's tactic for the remaining 3 stages?
- We have some challenging and technical stages ahead and my role will be to support Jaci through some of the more complicated sectors with sharp turns and not much space to maneuver. It will be a full out support for him now.
- Thank you Toli!
