An Indian summer in Antwerp, where the streets are filled with locals enjoying each others company and having a beer. I am here to see who will be victorious in the first tour of the OCM calender. It is the Tweedaagse van Antwerpen and it is known to be a real pain in the butt. I have not experienced this tour myself, my days were filled with carrying water bottles in less important races. As we are following the race we look at Brabo and wonder what he thinks of all this. And he, as do most other people at the moment think that the Tweedaagse is important but not as important as enjoying the sun at a day like this with friends, family and a good glass de Koninck. With two days and four stages through the county of Antwerpen we see the infamous cobbles and the surrounding of the city. Hoogstraten, Arendonk, Geel and Antwerpen. A very solid race with no error was delivered by Qi Yiqun of Asymm Project and he could celebrate his consecutive victory. Behind him are few French riders and we will focus on them next season as they proved promising.

  Besides

the Tweedaagse van Antwerpen in Top Division, the lower divisions had some Classics. Starting with Zyte Division as they were gathered in Austria, the Alps around Ainet for the Ainet – Bruggen Classic. After some nice battle that led the riders near the Grossglockner and many high peaks of the Tyrolian area it was the surprising Jesper Spijker who claimed victory before renowned climber such as Oskar Kvam and Dimitri Rummens.

With a cobble tour in Belgium under way the Division six teams joined in Budapest to race the Budapest Meeting Point. A great Hungarian race, without a trophy still, that could deliver the future winner of the Roubaix Classic or Tweedaagse van Antwerpen. Riding in the city and the surrounding area of Budapest this race is filled with twists and turns in small alleys and on cobbles as old as the city itself. After an exciting race a small group entered the center of Budapest and sprinted for victory. It was the New Zealander Alama Minney who was victorious, giving his team Toma Pro CST an important cobble victory.

And last but not least, the Roubaix Classic in Top Division. A classic among classics and entering its thirtythird edition. The big teams were ready, some in preperation for Tweedaagse van Antwerpen others completely focussed on this race. A very lively race with new comers and old names. After a dreadfull day in the campagne of Pays du Nord the riders were cold and wet and filled with mud in every part of their bodies, the riders arrived in Roubaix again for the finish of this edition. Longing for the end and a warm shower at the Velo Club Roubaix the riders pedalled harder with every inch they came closer. The first to arrive for Mora Grosics of Drapeau Noir. He had left his companions and was able to finish this race solo. Behind him Gilles Untereiner and Priyavat van Dijk had to battle for second, with the first one as winner.
