Norway Tour - a preview
by Finz, at 12/7-15 - 16:18 GMT

  Prologue (Norway Tour)

  Staring in Sortland the Norway Tour is starting with a prologue through the streets of this Lofoten town on Langoya. 8 kilometers against the clock and through the streets of Sortland demands a good technique because of the many turns. Those who could wear the first leaders jerseys are;

   Caspar Christensen, Fighting
   Emmanuele Randazzo, Conero cycling team
   Garrick Fredericks, Durban Dolphins

  Harstad-Bodø

  Stage two is a sprintstage from Harstad to Bodø. This is a very long stage but, as always we can use secret portals to make the stage shorter. Over 400 kilometers will be done in just a bit more than 160. It is great, right? We will see the sprinters willing to do battle over a stage win in Bodø.

   Yulian Abdulov, NightmareChaos
   Kent Coosemans, Grant Thornton
   Yonnas Lelisa, nonnies

  Bodø-Mosjøen

  From Bodø to Mosjøen the riders are experiencing the hills of Mosjøen. Only the tough riders can be able to battle it out in the end. We will probably see a small, select group at the finish and this might be an opportunity for a succesfull breakaway. Intereting riders are;

   Tarjei Bakke, Qvibra Pro Cyclingte
   Frederik De Brouwer, Team Wappels
   Incencio Canseco, blast

  Mosjøen-Trondheim

  Don't you love it, from Mosjøen to Trondheim in just 170 kilometers. Portals are awesome because we skip 220 kilometers. We do hit the mountains and we will see some changes in the General Classification that is for sure. The climbers will be in front and take minutes on the sprinters. Big climbers are;

   Anthony Dabe, Driehoek
   Knut Boye, blast
   Edi Bacilieri, Herens Cycling

  Trondheim-Ålesund

  Less steep climbs than before but still a climbing stage and a stage that matters in the pursuit of winning the General Classification. With the mountains around Ålesund we can expect some fierce break ups in the peloton. Some riders might want to attack

or to consolidate. Contenders are;

   Dražen ?etnik, CyclingClubChomutov
   Hartmann Sadolin, Britcycles
   Erland Almås, FretexHIBAS

  Ålesund-Bergen

  The peloton is heading to the Western most part of Norway this tour and will visit Bergen. This stage is a flat stage with some hills in the beginning. In the end the riders will most likely finish in a bunch sprint in Bergen.

   Casper Ramsgaard, Snooman
   Arkady Nesterov, En trailer med vin
   Florian Akos, mapei bianchi

  Bergen (ITT)

  With the riders in Bergen we are looking forward to the final timetrial of this tour. There might be some changes happening in the standings but not many and probably not very big ones on top.
  The specialists will probably be on top in this stage;

   Michel Archer, mutants madrid
   Charlie Bentley, rouches
   Irving Andreassen, rouches

  Gudvagen-Lillehammer

  The most important stage, the king's stage. Here we will see who will finally be victorious in this edition of Norway Tour. The big mountains around Lillehammer will challenge the riders and only the strongest will survive to finish uphill on the last climb. Big climber for both the General Classification and the stage are;

   Erwin Rolfes, KRV Rapid Habsburg
   Dimitri Rummens, lexx
   Knut Boye, blast

  Oslo Avslutning

  The final stage in Oslo. A sprinters ball. The title is given and only disaster can change the outcome but there might be a jersey to win. The sprinters jersey and in Oslo the sprinters will want to win this stage and give their team a much awaited win.

  Norway Tour as tourist

  On a cycling holiday in Fjord Norway you will experience a varied landscape with mountains and hills, green secluded valleys, waterfalls and islands.

  The narrow Geirangerfjord with its steep surrounding mountains is included on UNESCO's World Heritage List. The Geiranger – Trollstigen National Tourist Route is perfect for a thrilling cycling holiday with spectacular fjord views and serpentine roads.

  Sunnhordland, south of the city of Bergen, is a region with many islands and fjords. Express ferries along the coast bring you to interesting starting points where you can begin to explore the islands. Go from island to island one day, and experience mountains and glaciers the next.

  The Romsdalen Valley offers cycling adventures around the scenic Romsdalsfjord with stunning cycle trails along the sea, exciting off-road biking and single track mountain trails with fjord views. The Romsdalen Valley is the starting point for a three day mountain bike adventure to Oppdal.

  The Geiranger-Trollstigen National Tourist Route is a fascinating cycle route with hairpin bends and other attractions. Recommended sights include Gudbrandjuvet Gorge, the Eagle Road, Flydalsjuvet Gorge (viewpoint) and the Dalsnibba Mountain. Dalsnibba at 1,476 metres is a tough climb from Lake Djupvatnet, with a great view from the top. From Geiranger there is a short but tough ride along rv. 25 to the mountains and glaciers of Djupvatn, Breidalsvatn and Grotli. From Grotli, try the old road through Mårådalen and Videdalen to Hotel Videseter (27 kilometres). The view from the hotel will tempt you to continue further down to Stryn.

  The costal route (138 kilometres)
  A three-day trip through a varied landscape with sea views, fishing villages, farmland and small towns. The costal route starts at the historic Mosterhamn, which is reached by a pleasant express boat trip from Stavanger or Bergen. Continue northwards to Rubbestadneset, Leirvik, Fitjar and Hufthammar, where you take a ferry back to Bergen.

  There are plenty of options for detours, especially on the island of Bømlo.

  North Sea Cycle Route
  The coast of Sunnhordland is part of the international North Sea Cycle Route, the world's longest cycling route (6,000 kilometres).

  In Sunnhordland, the route passes Sveio, Bømlo, Stord and Fitjar, usually close to the sea. This part of the North Sea Cycle Route is fairly easy for cyclists, without steep hills. Short ferry trips connect the islands and allow for breaks on the way. The distance from Mosterhavn to Bergen is about 80 kilometres and you can find accommodation on the way.

  The route is signposted and there is also a description of the route and the different legs available.

  Nice one Finz.

  Hopefully I am able to get some results in Norway. Will be hard, without using Eun as lead-out (he was injured during signup) and without using Heo's topform.

tomba at 10:39 13/7-2015
  For me Erland Almas is the favourite to win GC as he is in topform.

Durban Dolphins at 07:20 14/7-2015

  I'll just choose riders as the profile suits them so might have different captains each stage
