Germany Tour - a preview

To hard to predict a winner in the end. Many good teams with good riders at the start. I just picked some favourites for the stages. All nice and such this Germany Tour and predictions but, it is carnaval and I have other things to worry about. A silly hat for example. Those Germans, silly people but, great beer.

  Kiel Prologue

Kiel, home of the Marine-Ehrenmal Laboe, or Laboe naval memorial, that commemorate the sailors of the emperial navy that died during the first world war. And has the world's only remaining Type VII U-boat at its site. Favourite for the prologue is Bob Rodgers of Die Tour Phantome

  Kiel - Bremen

Arriving in Bremen for the second stage, the riders might notice girls that start polishing the door handles when they arrive. This is not weird in Bremen, all they want is a kiss. Be aware though, once kissed they are marrying the kisser. Frederick Longosiwa of Nairobi City Cycling Club could be lured in with a kiss.

  Bielefeld – Cologne

Third stage starts in Bielefeld and ends in Cologne, The famous sprayed banana – the metamorphic symbol for political and social

events and for places that display great art is a project started in Cologne by artist Thomas Baumgärtel. Franz Amelung of Team JAN could be the first banana.

  Cologne - Frankfurt am Main

The birthplace of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe is in Frankfurt am Main. Writer and politician, known for his masterpiece Faust. A true wonder of literature and a must read. Björn Eskildsen of WV De Dommel could be victorious here.

  Frankfurt am Main - Heidelberg

The hilly terrain from Frankfurt to Heidelberg is going to be very tough. When arriving the city of Heidelberg the riders can see a wild population of Siberian swan geese, mainly on the islands in the River Neckar near the district of Bergheim. The winner in Heidelberg is probably Kennet Bendixen of rooney17

  Heidelberg - Freiburg

Traveling from Heidelberg to Freiburg we enter the Baden wine-growing region. Located in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg. But under German wine legislation, Baden and Württemberg are separate wine regions. Spätburgunder is the most planted grape species. Elroy Heidel of Rotational Symmetry is favourite

here.

  Munich (ITT)

The long timetrial is set in Munich. Munich is home to the Bavarian Film Studios which are the biggest and most famous film production studios in Europe. The winner could be Sven Ulstrup of Nobodies

  Munich - Kempten

Not much to do in Kempten so we go to the Martinibar. In the end we see Jayden van den Kroon of WV De Dommel win the stage. We quickly go back inside.

  Leipzig – Potsdam

What Sam Duncan of Hells Grannies does not know is that the peaceful revolution, started in Leipzig and brought down the wall in Berlin. Pretty accurate stage I would say. I bet the designers did not think about that.

  Potsdam – Berlin

Potsdam is the starting place, and when riders leave now, in earlier times they moved in. Its religious freedom attracted people from France (Huguenots), Russia, the Netherlands and Bohemia. Going to Berlin we will see the winner of the stage and the Germany Tour. And we can probably see part of the 300 kilometers long labyrinth of tunnels and bunkers beneath the city of Berlin. Maybe Fonzo Mejia of Glamourade has time to visit them after his victory.
