Welcome to the tenth edition of the Danish sprinting tour, Fast on Wheels! Here, I will summarize the teams participating to see if they have a chance of winning!

   En Trailer Med Vin

The first team to sign up brings with them a few options in the form of their riders. Per Olsen is a very god hill sprinter and stages three and four would his strongest. Then you’ve got Arkady Nesterov, a young sprinter who would do well in stages two and six. Last but not least is Kjartan Kolstad, who’s a sprinter with average hill. He would do well in all of the non time trial stages in this tour. They’ll have a couple of lead outs and a hiller for support in this tour.

   Drake Racing

Dutch rider Hubert Lowik will be the captain in this team. He’s a good hill sprinter and not a bad sprinter and time trial rider. This team has suffered a setback when there flat road rider Ildefonso Canto got injured in a race and won’t be back to full strength for the tour. The rest of team is a very good sprinter, another lead out, a time trial rider and a climber. This team should do well in this tour.

   TJ Banik OKD

Theo Bruintjes is in top form and he’ll be fighting for the general classification win. He should do well in stages three and four. To support him in his quest for the victory of this tour, he’ll have four lead outs, some better than others, and a hill helper. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this team wins the hill stages of this tour.

   Forza17

Aarón Chedraui looks like the likely captain of this team. He’s eligible for all three jerseys. Personally he’ll have a good chance of doing well in the youth classification. Even without being fully time trial centered, he’s managed to get third in the youth classification at Giro di Montelbano earlier on in the season. He should be able to do the same here, if not better. Three lead outs, a team mate and a time trail rider will complete this team.

   Ghost Riders

Recently signed Portuguese rider Augusto Campelo will captain this team. He’s got results in high division classics and in the World Championships so he’s already shown that he’s got what it takes to be a great rider. The only problem is that the team hasn’t got a lot of support for him. He’ll have one great lead out to help him in the sprint stages, another lead out and two hill helpers. The last person to make up the team will be a water bottle carrier.

   Allgäu

This team’s main man will be Heinz Gleisenberg. He’s still young enough to win the youth classification and providing that he has a bit of luck in the time trial stages, he should do well in this tour. He’ll have a team mate, a water bottle carrier, two hill helpers and a lead out. The captain has already ridden this tour and got eighth in the general classification and second in the sprinting classification. He should do as well this time.

   Fighting

A three man time trial team has entered, plus three young untrained riders. This team’s main riders are Bart?omiej Krajewski and Felix Redmon. The Englishman isn’t in the best of form, but his main team rival is in good shape for the tour. The Polish

time trial rider has had some good results in tours like Volta and Perm, so he should be able to impress here.

   Team Albatros

Two of the top Danish home favorites for this tour, ride for Team Albatros. Jørg Lundberg is the elder of the two and Åge Lindström the younger. Now, it’s a going to be a hard decision for the manager to pick an outright captain. The elder is better in sprinting and is time trial centered, but eh younger is better in hill sprints; hill stages and has a better experience to age combo. There both in great form, so maybe the manager will go for stage wins instead of the general classification….. The team is filled with a mix of lead outs and hill helpers.

   qazpl

The award for the highest team average in this tour goes to Qazpl! Seriously, the team they’ve brought to this tour is great. The captain is a great hill sprint rider, but also capable of hill, sprint and time trial stages. He’ll have a team mate, two lead outs and two time trial riders to help him. The only two downsides with this team is that the captain isn’t in top form and that Valentim Dâmaso would have been one of the favorites going into the time trial stages if he had decent form. Still, it’s a very good team!

   BCTeam

Previous runner up in this tour, Nari Iacone is back, but will he be captain? I think he’ll be the captain for this teams general classification hope, but Shamal Prasad will take over for the sprinting stages. The rest of the team is formed by a hill helper, two time trial riders and a water bottle carrier. Both of the riders aren’t in top form, but they have got good form, so they should get top nines in the stages they target.

   Red Brigade CT

Gerard Cygan hasn’t had a great season so far, so he’ll want to turn it around here. He’s in top form, but he hasn’t got team support like some other captains in the peloton. He’ll have a hill sprinter, two lead outs and two half trained team mates. He won this tour nearly two seasons ago, winning all three classifications, so he certainly shouldn’t be underestimated, but his support might let him down this time…

   Riftes Hobbysyklister

Fiji rider Salesh Delai is in top form and looks ready to win the sprinting classification! He’s got a couple of good lead outs, one hill helper and a couple of half trained lead outs. I also wouldn’t bet against him doing well in the youth classification, but the only problem with that is he isn’t time trial centered, so he’ll struggle in the time trials to keep up with the general classification contenders. But, all in all, he should do very well in the sprinting stages.

   WEST COLUMBIA

Felix Fencl is main hope for this team. He’s an alright time trial rider, and he’s got an average side stat in hill. Three team mates, a lead out and a time trial rider will be helping him to achieve his best in the upcoming stages. The captain should do alright in this tour. He won’t get any amazing results, but he should be able to fight it out for the general classification with a bit of luck in the time trial stages of this tour.

   LFC Rado Team

Thirty three year old rider Ernst van Damme is probably one of the most experienced riders in

the peloton and one of the oldest captains in the tour. He’s a pure hill sprinter, so he’ll be targeting stage three for the win and a top nine in stage four. Four lead outs and a time trial rider will be helping him in the stages. I think that he won’t pose a great threat in the general classification, but he’ll have a good chance of results in certain stages.

   Biertje

This team’s captain is a 230 point sprinter! Dican Flórián is his name and on top of his sprinting stats, he’s in top form! One major problem with him though is the fact that he hasn’t got good lead outs. His team mates are a climber, a sprinter and half trained climber, sprinter and time trial rider. Personally though, his experience is good for his age, he’s got a few staff, so he should be able to get a result of two in the sprint stages.

   Squadra Sora

Scottish rider Hunter Samuels is a very good hill sprinter. He’s only twenty four, so he can still win the youth classification and he should have a good chance of doing so. One of my main concerns about him though is his experience to age ratio. It’s not very good. The team is setup for the hills, with three hill helpers, one team mate and a lead out. The captain has got one of the best forms going into the tour, so that might be the difference between victories and failing.

   Tjust Pro Racing Team

A cobble team has entered in this tour. The team brought Bartolo Mazinho, one of only two trained riders. The other four are untrained. I’m afraid that this team will find it hard to get results here. If the manager gets lucky, he might get a top nine.

   Teamsi

Another rider going into this tour eligible for the youth classification is Giles Eberhard. He’s a rider that should do quite well in the hill stages, though he’ll struggle in the time trials because he’s not yet fully time trial centered. Abel Mentzer is the other option for this team. He’s got results in Race of the Minuteman, both in general classification and youth classification, which he’s not eligible for now. Three hill helpers and a climber will support the manager’s captain.

   Lysskar Nabolag

This fully Norwegian team brings Ernst Krogh as their captain for sprints and probably Morten Holen as their captain for the general classification. The first is a decent sprinter, capable of getting top nines in the sprint stages. The second is a great hill sprinter and shouldn’t do too badly in the time trials. Will this team be able to win two jerseys with two different riders in the same edition for the first time in this tour? One lead out, a time trial rider, a team mate and a hill helper will do their best to support the captains.

   Manisaspor

There’s no better team to finish on than this all Turkish team manager Ozgur has put together. This team has reached 110 results and has dedicated the immediate future to the training of local riders. Sabri Rasim, previous sprinting classification winner here will ride as a lead out to younger captain Erdal Özkan. The manager released a press release stating his riders won’t be in good form and they are sadly not. But with a full squad of trained lead outs, will this team be able to pull a result from nowhere? We’ll find out soon!

Thanks for reading and good luck to all the teams in the tour!

Sorry for the spelling mistakes! My word thinks it's American and hates trial and good (puts god for some reason).

Nice preview and thanks for the kind words. Probably the strongest team but with one of the worst managers:) A missed jersey imho.
