What is hot, what is not. Everything that has happened is in the weekly breakaway. It is a bit later then usually, because I was hot last week.

   Kangaroo Tour

The first Australian tour took place and division three was thrilled with this new sprinters tour. Many good riders signed up and everybody knew it was going to be decided on the last stage. Who would win the most stages and who would win stage five and win the tour. The prologue was won by fc barca in a great time. After that the sprinters won the remaining stages. And in Sydney it was Franz Amelung who took his second stage win and with that, enough time to win the first Kangaroo Tour.

  World Tour

   Birmingham - London (WT A)

Division A had their English sprint race from Birmingham to London. Every team that could join did join and after the complete field was kept together the sprinters had to battle it out in the streets of London. Surprising captain for Belgium, Sebastian Dewitte, started the sprint and he took a few meters from the peloton. Only Denmark could counter him and Benny Malmros passed him just before the finish line, giving Denmark a much needed win. Roman Wieckowski finish third for Poland.

   Hamburg - Lübeck (WT B)

The German division B race did not secure many entrants but that did not keep Tadaki Ko from an easy victory in the streets of Lübeck. Japan was in control the complete race and with only one kilometer

to go it was the complete Japanese team who raced in front the give Tadaki Ko an easy sprint. Only Culbert Roberts and Warren Howlett thought they came close but it was with more then two bike lengths difference that Tadaki Ko secured a victory.

  2. Culvert Roberts, Rigana
  3. Warren Howlett, Big Daddy

   Minas - Montevideo (WT C)

Twelve teams signed up for the race in Uruguay. From alll around the world teams come for a division C race. European, African, South American and Asian teams. And in Uruguay it was a second African nation that conquered the race. This time it was Rwanda who won it in the name of Ildephonse Mujawamariya. He was faster in the streets of Montevideo then Felix Lally of Wales and Laotian Anousack Phachoumphon.

  Classics

   Zyte GP

The French Alpes are always a nice venue, especially if there is a Classic at stake. Zyte GP is the division three pinnacle for the climbers of that division. Many teams entered it very soon and it was fully really fast. With a cold breeze it was harder then usual as the riders had problems to stay warm. It was a big surprise to see Freqalsi Abrha Debesay, from Eritrea, to do so well in this cold. It was like he was not bothered a bit. He jumped with every rider that tried to escape and in the end it was he who made the final jump to leave the others behind. A decisive win, well ahead of Xander-Paul Spailer and Walenty Lisiecki.

Juberri - Pas de la Casa

What Zyte GP lacked, Juberri – Pas de la Casa had in abundance. The sun was shining and the riders had great weather to climb the

peaks of the Andorran Pyrennes. They could never rest as the mountains already start in Juberri and do not stop until the peak of Pas de la Casa is reached. In the end a small group of good climbers formed to start the final climb and it was Victoro Lapenti who was the smartest. Jumping away from behind, only a few hunderd meters before the finish, he surprised everybody and they could not get him back. It was to close to the finish and a very sneaky victory for Victoro Lapenti. But it does not matter how you win, if you win. Matus Bakos and Burton Day were second and third.

   Astana GP

With mountains in the lower divisions, it were cobbles who took the main part in the Top division classic Astana GP. The Kazakh race had a great number of cobblers at the start and they were all great in their own kind. Due to the roads and pace, one by one the riders fell out of the peloton untill only a handful was left to compete in the last twenty kilometers. When Bret Brunton took off it was only Abraham Valladares and Rowan Baird who could follow and it was between these three riders who would win it. Bret Brunton had done the most work and Rowan Baird was lurking from behind. Abraham Valladares did not want to be surprised by him and attacked a kilometer from the finish. Rowan was too surprised and Bret was too tired to react giving Nairobi City Cycling Club a nice Classic victory.
