Giro di Montelbano
In division three there is a new tour in honour of Sandro Montelbano. It is located in the Lecce area around the town of Montelbano. No wonder Matrix team was invited to race Sandro Montelbano here. And with two stage victories he was the one that showed the rest of the teams what it is to be honoured and how to respond to that. Sandro Montelbano was victorious in the first edition of this tour. Luis Sherteel was a surprise winner of the Youth Classification. His unintendent topform payed off.

Volta ao Porto
As we saw Dean Sinnott win the last stage in Volta ao Porto it was time to print The Breakaway. We could not wait for another week to praise Tomas Belo for winning this edition of the Volta. Biggest surprise was the complete breakdown of Marcus Bøgh, NECFTW in stage seven. This made him drop from the General Classification for good. He could win the Youth Classification with a safe margin but, it was not what he was expecting. And also not worth the money spend on him by NECFTW. The last stage victory gave Dean Sinnott the Sprinters Classification for Seeds2. His first jersey in his empty palmares room.

World Tour
Velikiye Luki – Gruzdovo
The Russian start in Velikiye Luki gave Division A teams the opportunity to win the first points of the season. The bad streets and cobbled sections always grant the spectators a great race where only the thoughest riders can stand ground. It was Rogerio Echave who took his first WT victory outside Paris. He beat Bjerke Bodilsen and Ferdynand Szymczak.
1. Rogerio Echave, Taxckin
2. Bjerke Bodilsen, The Legacy
3. Ferdynand Szymczak, Kremer
Lozuvatka - Kryvyi Rih
Where Russia is the start for division A, Ukraine is it for division B. The best cobble riders were ready with their teams to attack the streets around Lozuvatka and Kryvyi Rih. After a nice race with breakaways and the occasional crashes it was a small group in front. With only ten kilometers to go it was certain the winner was within this group. Being the strongest Guðmar Unnsteinnsson had no problem to counter attack everything and strolled to victory on the last cobbled section. Finlay Gower and Ivo Lida could only watch from behind.

Vejle-København
The classic that every sprinters wants to win at least once in his lifetime. A dream came true for Karl Hall as he outsprinted Rico Alday and Hans-Erik Qvist in København. A second victory for Greenride here but a first for Karl Hall. He was extatic when he lifted the bridge over his head an showed the crowed who was the best. American bravoure at its best.

2. Rico Alday, Club Ciclista Riaza

Zürich-Bern-Zürich
With a first and third place it was Team Celeste who was the best of everybody and the rest. Only Ejnar Rosenborg could squeeze himself in between the two Celeste riders. Andre Škerjanc was in great shape and with Jerry Grundin by his side he had the rest of the riders controlled. It was no suprise that Jerry Grundin attacked first and only Ejnar Rosenborg could follow. Andre Škerjanc was right behind Ejnar and jumped over him when the both met Jerry Grundin again. That was the end of an exciting race and Andre Škerjanc secured a first Classic victory for Team Celeste.

Minsk CBGP
With the Belarussian cobblestreets waiting all riders prepared themselves. The cold weather was an extra disadvantage and it showed in the small groups forming early in the race. It was already certain that there was only one rider to beat. Darian Hadfield had a great run already with a first and second place early in the season. He was the obvious winner of this Classic and was very pleased to extent his form into this important race. With pride he showed his trophy and promised to be even better in Haute - Normandie.
