  World Champion Time Trial

The world champion time trial is known. The twenty-sixth World Championships are held in Silkeborg, Denmark this time. And with all the specialists ready we are in for a great show. The sixty one kilometer long course was layed out around the town of Silkeborg and had its finish line in the center of the city. It was Benito Falconio who surprised everybody with a great time as one of the first riders to start. This time was a great target for the other riders, the commentators claimed. But one by one, none could come close of his time. Yoeri De Loose came close but it was only enough for second. With Hans Holter finishing third it was Benito Falconio, the twenty-four year old from sprint4live who took his first and biggest win of his career. And gave Italy their first Time Trial Wold Champion.

  Most expensive rider

Eugene Massengill, this twenty-two year old talent from Wales is already one of the most talked about riders in a very short period of time. His talent is riding time trials and scouts all over the world are unanimous, this rider can make it big, real big. And when he came on the market the managers all wanted to get this rider. From a nobody he became the most expensive untrained rider ever in the history of OCM. Lince Armstrong of Peloton Pushers payed a whooping 230k for this talent. Let us hope Eugene Massengill will deliver.

  Tours

  Fast on Wheels

The last tour of the season was the Danish, division 5, tour, Fast on Wheels. Many sprint teams send their best squad to this six day event that started in the west, Esbjerg and ended in the east of the country, the capital Copenhagen. And because good examples are worth to follow, Fast on Wheels was also won by one rider. Folkert Gerrits of V02maXXers won the General Classification, the Sprint Classification and the Youth Classification. The three jerseys won by one rider, just like in Germany and Nederlandse. It was a great performance and manager Lamme Frans was more then overjoyed with the win.

  World Tour

  Division

A

   Oslo Grand Prix

The last race for division A is always in Oslo. The Oslo Grand Prix is always good for some spectacle along the course. Some riders want to prove themselves and some teams are wanting to improve their position in the classification. The decent layed out course was again very challenging and demanded everything from the riders. It was the young Norwegian rider Dagfinn Berntsen who arrived in great shape and was eager to win. This young climber pedaled away from everybody and secured a nice home victory for team Norway. Urbano Arzu beat Czech Beda Petr for second but, it was not enough for Spain to beat Denmark in the overall classification. Denmark were the winners of this season's World Tour.

   Tabor GrandPrix

With the top nations battling it out in Norway, the second tier nations had their final race in the Czech Republic. The terrain around Tabor was in favour of the sprinters this time but it was still a challenging course that suited everybody. In the city of Tabor there was a small group arriving with all the big names in it. Because the sprinters had some energy left they out sprinted the climbers in the group. Victor Pardo was successful in defending his previous victory here as he beat Hartley Rich of Wales. Fathi Alsharaa came in third securing much needed points for Libya.

  Division C

   Glasgow - Edinburgh

From Glasgow to Edinburgh, the Division C race in Scotland is the season finale. Following the northern route and then following the river Forth to Edinburgh the riders crossed many hills. This resulted in many riders already abandoning early in the race and left the peloton in half when the

second part started. The Chinese were well prepared for the second part and Tu Zhong took off with only ten kilometers to go. Not one rider was capable on chasing him and he was celebrating when he crossed the finish line. Mariano Lira took second for Brazil and Vergilio Nandigna took third for Cape Verde.

  The Classics

  Bali Classic

This week we had only one classic, it was the division six classic in Africa, Bali Classic. The very proud people of Bali and Taraba were happy to see the riders arrive with so many for their great race. The Mambila Plateau was again the big star in this race. Those mountains were torturing the legs of the riders and the sun squeezed the lost drop of fluid out of their bodies. It was Matijs Remry who defended his title successfully. He beat Carlo Lilienthal and Armando Arnal. And he did not beat them on the finish line. Matijs was already finished when they still climbed the last mountain. Matijs Remry is a great rider for this kind of terrain.

"The three jerseys won by one rider, just like in Germany and Nederlandse": there are only 2 jerseys in Nederlandse.
Gerrits is only the 2nd ever rider to do that, all tours included.
