Every helper and non cobble specialist tried to hang on be eventually dropped from the best cobble riders.
In Gruzdovo we saw one of the best riders of this season arrive alone. Spain's Bartoli Rivera won this first race and gave Spain a great start. He finished ahead of Belgian Kapser Schooters and Polish Klaudian Filipiak.

Bukarest - Sinaia
The hills and mountains of Romania are the terrain of the second world tour race for division A. A surprise sign up failure from Denmark did not mean we had less then twenty teams. We did not miss Denmark at all. The Romanian mountains around the Sinaia region were very tough on the riders and they needed all the support they could get from their team and the cheers of the spectators. First uphill and the one that was the best rider in the mountains was Rolf Enoch from England. He beat Natan ?urawski of Poland and third was American Nate Whelan.
Classica Verona

And if that was not enough, Anousone Keovilay of Laos was the one that took first place. They came, they saw and they overcame a famous Roman general would say. Who would have guessed that surprising outcome of the race up front.
The Italian mountains in the Verona region were still a bit cold and wet this time of year but that did not bother the young Laos rider. He wanted to make his nation proud. he finished well ahead of Angus Whitlock of New Zealand and Hunter Drager of Wales.
