National Heroes - Part 1
by Yuri, at 19/11-12 - 12:55 GMT

Every nation needs a hero. In the world of OCM look no further than the tough arena of the World Tour. Only the best of the the best are invited. Our story focuses on those that have sweated blood and tears for their country on 50 or more occasions. You don`t get to 50 without proving yourself.

  Czech Champion

Jaroslav Brychta (68 caps) - the most any rider has achieved. Notable performances :
  3rd CoN Beijing Season18
2nd CoN Cape Town Season 16

Czech Republic manager honzas (also PEKAC B), is proud of his man "He should celebrate his 70th race for the national team shortly, probably in China racing on Ningde - Luoyuan.

He will captain the Czech team in this race. The whole country would celebrate if he wins, there will be big party on the Old Town Square in Prague.
The Czech NT needs him, there are no new talents in the Czech team so I will try to persuade him to race for the NT for one or two more seasons."

  Malaysian Magic

Sufian Ching (66 caps) and Sin Kiat Safiq Rahim (58 caps).

Malaysian team manager, Holger (also Asymm Project), had this to say "The thing is that both of these riders have hardly ever captained Malaysia, but they are very strong and versatile helpers. Sufian Ching has been a key in the team's success, as he's

improved a lot in a tactical sense. I'd say that he's one of the most respected riders in the WT peloton, the teammate everyone would like to have. It's been a diversion for him: racing in fifth division during the week, and attending WT on Sundays.

Rahim, in turn, has taken advantage of our lack of climbers to secure his place in the regular 6 for mountains or hills. The squad is growing strong now, and he's already 32, so he might be about to end his WT career. However, if it's up to me, I'll give him a job as assistant coach."

In part 2 we will hear from the Netherlands (Onie) and Canada (Squiffinator).
