Things Back on Track
by Itisix, at 2/4-11 - 13:13 GMT

After the strikes, the delays, all those problems. the season ended in a bang.

The World Championships went all as planned, on time and with a huge gathering of fans.

Many raised their eyebrows at the organization's capacities to run it smooth, but all came along perfectly, even more with a shocker result in the Individual Time Trial.

Laurits Junker from Legia took first place. First win of his career. In fact, almost first everything! No one predicted this and I'm pretty sure there are many managers shocked at it. Still, he came first.

Second was Carlos Rubiera from Team Whalers, followed by Valentin Figueira from sprint4live, Yaromir Lelyushenko from KK Perutnina Ptuj and a trio from Equipo Easy On consisting of Harley Patrick, Gregory Levi and Cliff Parry.

On the road race, things were a little more conventional with Pauli

Michielsen from skils securing his third WC Road Race win. A formidable result from the German and one that really caps off a not brilliant season.

Behind him were Nico Gouffroy from Team airik, Keegan Shiable from Team Kernow, W?adys?aw Jakubowski from Mypa, Macario Arruti from Bajen Belfast, Garcia Dabino getting another good result for Legia and in 7th place, alive and still kicking, veteran Nico Holt riding for FFL.

Truly a great end of the season for riders, fans and most of all OCM, after some of the hardest moments in all it's history.

After the races, OCM boss Nick Lissner was clearly happy with the outcome and gave a brief statement to the press:

"After some tough times and a lot of discussion around things that shouldn't be the centre of attention, we are now back to talking about what we love so much:

cycling.
I'm very happy with the response from the riders after this strike, and with the massive turnout of fans.
It's been a gloomy time for OCM, but in the end we are still fighting, still riding and, most of all, stronger than ever before.
Riders and team bosses appear to be happy with the changes we made, and I have to admit the strike rushed OCM into the changes, but they were totally fair and needed. The future can only look brighter from now on."

And as we sign off from season 15, season 16 is just around the corner. Don't put your flags and jerseys away as you'll need them again soon.

To cap off the season we also invite everyone to take part in the OCM awards poll.
